This past week I must have read five different articles on the hairstyle trends that are popular right now and are predicted to stay that way throughout the season. While the articles all varied, there were a few common predictions throughout. Those are the ones I will share with you now.
Every few years, bangs come back with a vengeance and this year is apparently slated to be just such a year.
Short Bangs: These bangs sit right above the eyebrows. It’s a bold choice and shouldn’t be ventured into unless you are sure you’ll like it. The biggest haircut regret we hear about is bangs and almost always when they are cut drastically. We suggest starting out with the second type of bangs predicted to be popular this year – the 70’s bangs or curtain bangs as they’ve been called. Think Farah Fawcett with a modern twist. If you start there and have regrets, the road back won’t be nearly as painful. Make sure to have plenty of texturizing spray on hand to keep those bangs fluffy.
Super sleek styles are giving way to wavy, textured looks. So, give the flat iron a rest and try air drying or sleeping in damp ringlets. You’ll not only wake up to wavy hair, you’ll save a ton of time not having to heat style it. Be sure to rub a small amount of hair oil between palms to smooth down any frizz keeping the look polished.
Whether asymmetrical or not, the bob is here to stay. Maybe it’s because we have to wear masks and we’re looking to draw more attention to our visible features, but one thing’s for sure… bobs are popping up everywhere. A good root spray will make sure the style doesn’t lay too flat on top.
