The Better Bootie: 4 Looks To Love Now
There are many beautiful shoes. I often have to remind myself of this when I am eager to spend all of my money on yet another menswear-inspired flat or not-so-practical but super-stylish wedge. There are many beautiful shoes and I do not need to own all of them. This is what I have to tell myself. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. I still own a lot of shoes…
But every now and then there is a shoe that is so superior to others that I am not able to talk myself or our customers out of purchasing it. Typically, the shoe is a classic one but beautifully crafted with remarkable attention to detail. It is comfortable, versatile, and will wear well for years in terms of both style and function.
The latest iteration of this perfect shoe is the Walker boot by Rag & Bone. It’s just a better bootie. Better in craftsmanship, better in style, better in function. And to prove my point, I enlisted my friend Megan — owner of 529 Kids Consign — to model them for you. We have them in both black and gray, and I styled Megan in both colors twice.
I could list all of the ways you can wear the Walker, or the reasons every woman needs the Walker in her closet. But a picture is worth a thousand words, and I don’t have time to write a thousand words. (I also doubt you’d want to read that many words about a single boot!) So, here are some photos.

For this first look, I paired the gray Walker boot with gray AMO jeans and a fur-trimmed and -lined jacket that I am currently coveting. For additional warmth — because fashion can and should be practical — I layered a denim button-up under a heather grey and cream sweater.

I love the look of the gray Walkers paired with the sand-colored denim. Megan pulled off a mix of textures and prints effortlessly!

Now on to the black Walker. I realized the first two looks were more casual so I opted to dress the Walker up a bit with a (very affordable!) white ruffle tee and Tibi black culotte pants.

And because you just can never go wrong with black on black, I focused on layering varying textures in the same color for this final, super-polished look.
