5 steps to freshen your powder room this spring

unspecified-4

Spring is in the air and, if you’re like us, that means it’s time for cocktails on the porch, cookouts with friends, and lots of entertaining. All this fun is great motivation to spruce things up at home and we think one of the best places to start is your powder room. In a small space, details make all the difference and a few special touches will go a long way. To make it easy we’ve compiled a list of our top five easy-to-add essentials that are sure to make your powder room feel fresher than ever.

1) A Fresh Scent

We love walking into a room with a candle burning. Something about a lovely smell in the air just makes a space welcoming. Of course, we’re partial to our private label Ivy Lane Candles, which come in both Gardenia and Ice scents, but also absolutely love the Cote Bastide Orange Blossom scent currently in our shop for spring.

2) Crisp Linens

In our opinion, a lovely hand towel is a must-have for any powder room. Whether you love a custom monogram or a classic embroidered pattern, this an area where detail goes a long way. A beautiful tissue box cover is another great special touch that can turn something functional into part of your décor. Trust us, your guest with springtime allergies will thank you!

3) Lovely Soap

Quality soap is a small luxury that will really make your guest feel pampered. In our shop, we have a wonderful selection of both traditional bar soap and liquid hand soap that will ensure that washing up is never a chore.

4) Fresh Blooms

Adding flowers to any room instantly adds a fresh layer; they are that staple accessory that will never go out of style. A simple vase with a few stems is all you need!

5) A Colorful Accessory

A little color goes a long way in a small space and there are countless ways to bring in fresh tones.  Whether it’s a piece of art, a ceramic soap dish, or a fun vase, a contrasting hue will be sure to liven up your powder room. Two of our current shop favorites are these small-scale paintings by Liz Nichols and colorful St. Honore Ceramic Trays.
