“Yep, this is the one…”

Have you ever found that special skincare product that works so well? It makes you just think to yourself, “Yep, this is the one! I’m going to need a never-ending supply of this.” That’s how I felt when SkinCeuticals sent us samples of their newest Vitamin C serum, Silymarin CF. It hadn’t even officially hit the market yet, but after doing a little research, I was so eager to try it.
If you have oily skin, or you are blemish-prone like me, you may shy away from Vitamin C serums in fear of breaking out. The unfortunate part is that by skipping a Vitamin C serum in the morning, you’re putting your skin at a major disadvantage. Vitamin C serums are essential for fighting free radical damage, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, addressing loss of firmness, and brightening the skin’s complexion.
Silymarin CF is formulated with the same highly potent Vitamin C found in C E Ferulic and Phloretin CF, known as L-ascorbic Acid. What separates Silymarin CF from its sister products and makes it so effective for oily and/or blemish-prone skin is two main ingredients: silymarin and salicylic acid. Derived from milk thistle, silymarin helps to prevent oil oxidation that can lead to breakouts, while also acting as a powerful antioxidant. Salicylic acid (the ever-popular beta-hydroxy acid) works to exfoliate, refine pores, and reduce the formation of blemishes.
I’ve been using Silymarin CF every morning for the past two weeks now – well past the “please don’t break me out!” phase. I can honestly say that this has been a miracle serum for me. I haven’t had a single breakout, my skin texture has vastly improved, and I see an overall brightness to my skin that it was lacking before.
