what to wear: athleisure

While unpacking my own spring and summer clothing this past week, I started contemplating items I needed to find that would update my wardrobe for the coming months. The first piece that came to mind was a new pair of sweatpants. I knew they would be utilized, functional and stylish. Working out of the home allows me the liberty of dressing down but I still want to look and feel stylish, especially when meeting with clients. I also realize how tempting it is to run around in your workout clothes so it’s not surprising how “Athleisure” is now trending so strong.

I set out to find a pair of sweatpants that could be worn day to night. I had this image of being able to wear both a slip on leather sneaker as well as a sexy heel with the ideal pant. The Shoe Hive has been carrying a great selection of loungewear (thank you Elizabeth and Christen!) and within a minute of walking through the door, I found my next purchase – a pair of luxe joggers from Nesh NYC. They have a cute satiny stripe on the side and pockets!

I finished the outfit below with an AMAZING circle drape top from Bella Luxx, the Weitzman Nudist and my pick of the week, Tory Burch Fret-T sunglasses – all from The Shoe Hive. For those of you who want to take this look cosmopolitan, add this chic hat from Helen Kaminiski. For jewelry, I would consider a gold or silver collar. What I love most about this look is that with only a change of shoes, you could take this from breakfast to cocktails.
