What To Wear: 3 Looks for Tomorrow’s Old Town Historic Home and Garden Tour

Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to have my wedding photos taken on the cobblestone streets of Old Town. Finding beautiful spots was never difficult; around every corner there was always a scenic backdrop. Even in the dead of winter!

This is just one of the many things that have made me fall in love with Old Town, all the hidden gems and the way you discover something historic and awesome every time you walk down a new block.

Tomorrow we will all have the chance to visit some of Alexandria’s most beautiful homes and wander around our town’s most gorgeous gardens. Each year in the spring the Garden Club of Alexandria and the Hunting Creek Garden Club host the Old Town Historic Home and Garden Tour during Virginia Garden Week. The event will take place from 10am to 4pm. You can read more about the event itself and purchase tickets right here.

Luckily for us, many of the homes on this tour are our neighbors. So The Shoe Hive and The Hive are sweetening the deal by offering $25 off your purchase more than $100 during the weekend. Just show us your Garden Week program to get the discount! And if you don’t have time to shop, at least stop by for refreshments in the courtyard and to say hello.

To get us all even more excited for one of our favorite annual events, I picked out a few casual chic looks that are fitting for a day walking around Old Town.

Look 1: The Not-So-Basic T-Shirt and Jeans

Elevate the t-shirt and jeans look with a silk printed tee and dark denim. Round it all out with a classic slip-on Superga that will keep you on your feet from morning ‘til night!

Look 2: The Updated Cargo Pant

Cargo pants are back in full force this season, and you won’t hear us complain. Pair them with a spring sweater and linen sneakers for a completely updated take on the trend.

Look 3: The Best Dress

When I introduce women to Finley, I tell them that the greatest thing about that brand is it looks great on everyone, and the fit works with all body types. I did want to dress this look up a little, so I piled on the jewelry, applied a bold lip color, and grabbed a pair of sunnies on my way out the door!

You can find all of the clothing, shoes, and accessories I am wearing in these three looks at our stores, The Hive (301 Cameron) and The Shoe Hive (127 S. Fairfax). And you can always give me a call if you have any questions! 703.548.7110
