Street Style: Meredith Patel

I first met Meredith Patel a few years ago when I tried out her new barre studio here in Old Town. I attended a few classes and mainly kept to myself; I’m not a very extroverted person and honestly don’t tend to make friends in gyms (too busy sweating). But, at some point I started chatting with Meredith because that’s just what happens when you’re in her presence: her infectious personality makes it so that you can’t help but connect and engage with her.

Years later, Meredith and I have come to collaborate on many projects between our businesses. She was kind enough to host me for a little pop-up I did before the holidays last year and now, we’re happy to host Meredith at our new studio, The Seedling Collective, for a pop-up of her own. This weekend, you’ll be able to visit Meredith and Lindsey McConnell (another of my favorite instructors) at The Seedling Collective to shop their amazing collection of barre3 athletic attire, water bottles, clean beauty products from Beautycounter and Brush on the Block, and so much more. You can read more about Meredith’s pop up on our blog at theseedlingcollective.com.

In the meantime, I’m so happy to share my friend Meredith’s style here. She’s a classic beauty with a ton of charisma — a perfect candidate for a Street Style post if there ever was one. She’s also a savvy business owner, a generous friend, and an all-around great person. Plus, considering that I usually see Meredith in B3 branded workout gear, it’s so fun to see another side of her on these pages. If you love barre3 already or aren’t sure what all the fuss is about, visit the pop-up and say hi to Meredith and her team!

Creative Director & Co-Owner | Alexandria & Company
I came to join Alexandria & Company by way of love: my husband Tim has owned the stop for nearly ten years, and I started by helping him on Saturdays so that we could spend more time together. Eventually, I quit my other life in the legal field to become Alx&Co’s Creative Director and co-owner with Tim. Now, we run our small business together in Old Town and I haven’t looked back.

Alexandria & Company is an Old Town-based workshop and design studio specializing in creating and restoring fine jewelry and silver hollowware. They are the in-the-know jewelers of Alexandria and have been serving clients out of their small workshop for decades. Tucked in their historic building on South Royal Street, the team at Alx&Co. brings a personalized, modern approach to their craft – this is not your average stodgy jeweler or antique shop. Visit them during their walk-in hours or online to view their collection of handmade fine jewelry or to drop off a repair project; or, if you’re feeling creative, make an appointment to talk about that custom design project you’ve been imagining.
