As I thought of how to describe Caroline, the word that kept coming to me over and over was generous. She is a truly generous person. Generous with her time, generous with her words, generous with her smiles. She has a way of making everyone feel great about themselves, instantly. She also embodies the tenants and lifestyle of the company she works for: lululemon.

After moving to the DC area from Austin in 2009, she began working for lululemon athletica. Since then, she has worked in every store role, including educator, key leader, assistant manager and now store manager at the company’s newest location in Old Town. “I love lululemon’s company culture of goal setting and leadership development for all team members.”

She also teaches yoga, and it is this practice that provides her daily dose of physical and mental exertion/space/calm/grounding. She began practicing in 2003 and teaching in early 2009 after completing her 200-hour training in Austin. She is inspired by the many layers of the practice of yoga and enjoys sharing them with her students and, through lululemon, the community. She currently teaches at a studio in Falls Church called Blue Nectar Yoga as well as a yoga for CrossFitters program at CrossFit South Arlington in Crystal City.

I got to know Caroline through her work with lululemon, and have enjoyed seeing her really connect with the business community here. “I love exploring the layers of the local Alexandria community, from the colonial architecture, to the rich history and the arts community. The thing I love most about the area, however, is the incredibly dedicated community and how proud people are to live and work in this beautiful historic area. The people of Alexandria (Old Town, Del Ray) have been so supportive as lululemon moved into the neighborhood, and we absolutely love partnering with the local business,s studios, and the boutique district. It is especially inspiring to be in a community with so many female entrepreneurs.”

Outside of lululemon and yoga, Caroline enjoys traveling (she and her husband, Adam, are headed to California on Saturday!), trying new restaurants, is fluent in Spanish and a “fair weather runner.”

And the one thing she tries to keep top of mind as she pursues personal growth and development: “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” – Anais Nin

Caroline is seen here wearing sneakers, sunglasses and a crossbody bag from The Shoe Hive. Her clothing is from lululemon. Details as follows:
Rain or Shine Jacket: Wind & water resistant rain jacket. Multi-season and customizable. Bottom half zips off to feature a shorter option that is wearable on its own. Great for travel when you need a couple of options handy.
Wunder Under Pants *Roll Down: Core lululemon product, this one has a super comfy and flattering high rise waistband; made of signature fabric named Luon, a nylon & lycra blend. Seasonless silhouette (we always have them!) Warmer than regular leggings; completely opaque for your workout or wearing around town; wear great tucked into boots as well.
Yogi Crew Sweater: Easily layers over a tank if you’re headed from a yoga class to dinner. Thin enough to layer under a jacket, but very soft & warm (made of naturally breathable and insulating Merino Wool).
Cool RacerBack Tank: Easy base layer (wearing it under the sweater) and also a great tank for any workout. No built in shelf bra so you can layer any level of support underneath. Made of Luon; seasonless silhouette (we always have it) and come in tons of colors.
Vinyasa Scarf: Made of super soft Rulu fabric (a variation of our signature luon that is extra soft & cozy). Caroline never leaves home with out one of these, especially for any kind of traveling adventure. Convertible and wearable in so many ways: http://youtu.be/CY8ZtcLrpL0
