Meet Kait

We’re excited to welcome Kait Marder to Bazzak Salon as a stylist! Kait started her career right here in Old Town, working more than eight years at an Aveda Lifestyle Salon and quickly becoming one of Northern Virginia’s must-see hairstylists. She acquired her cosmetology license while working as a salon shampoo assistant in high school and picked up a passion for the beauty industry during those early years. After graduation, she went off to college to pursue a degree in nursing, but her passion in life was to make a difference in helping individuals express themselves through their style.

Over the past decade and throughout her career, Kait has taken in-depth classes through Aveda’s Advanced Academy to perfect her technique and skills for hair coloring, cutting, and styling. She specializes in all types of hair coloring (think highlighting, ombré, balayage, etc.), hair cutting on all types of hair, especially curly hair, men’s hair cuts, and keratin treatments. She has been invited to be a lead stylist at New York Fashion Week several times, working with the industry’s top stylists. After working in D.C. for the past two years, she has made the transition back to Old Town. Please join us in welcoming her to our salon!

Marzie founded Bazzak Hair Salon in 1980 and it has been a staple on King Street for the past 35 years. She is an accomplished stylist with more than 35 years in the industry and training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, New York, and Chicago. A long-time Old Town resident, she loves the closeness of the community and all the unique, local small businesses found in Alexandria. Outside of the salon she enjoys daily work outs at the gym, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
