How To Beat the Heat & Humidity
Summer is here and that means so are the dreaded heat and humidity that wreaks havoc on our locks. At Bazzak Salon, we are no strangers to the frizz, dryness from the sun and chlorine, and a general unruliness that can appear at the end of a long day. We’re here to help and have some recommendations.
Keratin
Keratin treatments have evolved quite a bit over the years and remain a favorite at salons everywhere for good reason. Keratin helps de-frizz the hair through a process where a straightening agent is applied to coat the hair cuticle, sealing the hair shaft, leaving the hair soft and frizz-free. This treatment lasts for about four to six months and is designed to make your hair more manageable and cut blow drying time in half! At Bazzak, we offer a smoothing treatment which we call an “Express Blowout.” It’s a less intense version keratin treatment and lasts about two to three months.
We carry a variety of products and treatments at the salon, but one gem you may not be familiar with is KC Max. This treatment is exclusive to the Keratin Complex line and it is a maximum strength formula, but does not leave the hair flat. It’s designed to last three to four months and smells amazing! This is one of the particularly exciting products of the season. We have a limited time special: with every KC Max treatment you’ll receive a complimentary KC Max daily treatment spray that will help keep the treatment fresh when you’re out and about!
Who should use smoothing treatments?
Whether your hair is fine or full, if you have frizz and can’t control it, then these Keratin or similar treatments are for you. They offer a blend of protein to strengthen hair, along with agents to help mitigate curls. Contrary to popular belief, these treatments aren’t designed to straighten hair, but to keep it tamed and full of luster. There are subtleties to the different methods and different types of treatments, so definitely ask your stylist to see which treatment might work best for you.
