Big Event? Special Occasion? Photo Shoot? Here’s How To Make Sure You Look Your Best
For most of us, we want to look our, ideally with minimal effort, but certain occasions warrant more time, energy, and focus to ensure what you’re wearing is as flattering as possible. Whether you’re giving a presentation at work, hosting a meeting, having portraits taken, participating in a photo or video shoot, going to a luncheon to support your favorite charity, you name it, there are countless reasons why some days we aim to look better than others.
For such occasions, do you have go-to outfits? Do you wear dresses, suits, pants, or jeans? Do you tend to stick to the same style of jewelry and/or shoes? We all know that black is a slimming color, but what colors do you tend to gravitate toward that make you look and feel your best?
I recently collaborated with Katie Garlock, a professional photographer and owner of Portriations at 218 N. Lee Street in Old Town, on a video series highlighting some simple strategies on how to look your best. Over the past 25 years, Katie’s work with individuals and families on portrait photography has given her knowledge and insight on what to wear for portraits. Together, we share some wisdom on the importance of fit, color, and style of clothing and accessories for everyday or when being photographed.
