coco blanca’s look: an evening at wolf trap
My friends and I have been guilty the last several years of having very repetitive weekend plans. If we go to Georgetown, we usually get brunch and then go shopping on M Street. If we stay around Alexandria, we usually end up getting dinner somewhere in Old Town and then we might go to Virtue or Union Street. What we sometimes fail to take advantage of are the multitude of events and venues that are available in our area due to its close proximity to the nation’s capitol. One of these wonderful places we have at our disposal is Wolf Trap. They have a wide range of ticketed events from classic orchestral concerts to classic rock to even more contemporary artists like Sara Bareilles.
When it comes to dressing for this type of venue it is always a difficult task figuring out how to balance the outdoorsy atmosphere with the desire to feel chic and put together. Personally, I find it more enjoyable to buy lawn seats because it gives you the opportunity to visit with your friends and have a picnic while still being able to experience the show. Probably the most integral part of the outfit I selected are the pants because in a picnic type environment it is undoubtedly the most comfortable way to dress. My favorite part of the outfit though is the belt. Coco Blanca just received a new shipment of beautiful belts in a wide variety of styles. With this particular outfit, I chose one with a textured surface, which provides contrast to the otherwise soft look. I also find it beneficial to layer when it comes to outdoor events because it might get colder later in the evening. In the case that it doesnʼt, you have layers to take off. The outfit still appears chic and put together while also looking casual enough to not feel out of place.
