Christen’s Clothing Pop-Up in Alexandria

When my husband and I moved to the D.C. area, we landed in Alexandria by chance or divine intervention. Whichever way you choose to look at it, we’re grateful. This city and the people in it have played such an important role in our personal lives and in our professional careers. Our community is generous and encouraging, and we love seeing people we know nearly everywhere we go. In fact, just the other day David went to a Nats game and a good friend of mine sat a few rows behind him and snapped a photo. She sent the photo to me and I sent the photo to him. His response? “You have spies everywhere!” I do, indeed!

Our Alexandria community has also been instrumental in the starting up and growth of my clothing company, Threads by Nomad. When my friend Jennifer Kearney opened a seasonal pop-up shop where small brands could showcase their goods on King Street, I hoped she would reach out to us. I knew it would be an incredible opportunity. Sure enough, after a successful holiday trial run, she asked to include us in her spring and summer lineup, just in time to showcase our newest collection. (It was only released a couple of weeks ago!)

I am excited to introduce my friends, colleagues, Stylebook readers, and the Alexandria community to our brand and pieces. We will be fully stocked in sizes in all of the new pieces with a smattering of our first collection available. My mom (and business partner) has sent clutches, pillows, scarves, and dolls as well. You can try it all on, and take it all home if you fall in love!

If you live nearby, please pay me a visit at 116 King Street this Friday through Sunday. I will be working the floor all three days and can help you figure out how to wear what we’ve created and make it work for you. I’m so looking forward to catching up with you, and hopefully meeting a few new faces, too!

xoxo Christen
