Be Happy! It’s Raining!

I couldn’t live in Seattle. I mean no offense to those of you who love the so-called Emerald City, but I wouldn’t wish cold, rainy days on my worst enemy.  My favorite forecast from WeatherBug is “Abundant Sunshine” (and yes, that was the forecast the day we took these pictures!). Plus, dressing for a cold, rainy day can be a chore if you have to walk to the Metro, run errands, or basically fill your day with grown-up things.

Before you reach for your fleece and Wellies, think again!  You can be polished and practical when facing the elements. Whatever your definition of a downpour is, you can look chic without getting soggy!

Boots are a must!

raingear_dressStart out prepared with your bubble umbrella and weatherproof boots by Valdini!  These Canadian boots are as extremely comfortable as they are warm.  And yes, the suede is all weather and will retain its beauty through any precipitation.  We have two styles: a sophisticated tall boot and wonderfully fuzzy-topped booty.  Each can be worn with dresses and pants alike.

Yep…don’t forget the raincoat

As the weather worsens (boo-hoo!), toss on this fabulous raincoat.  Some raincoats look dowdy.  Our goal is to avoid that.  The slight low/high hemline of this raincoat is a terrific, on-trend detail, plus you can cinch the waist and cuffs for definition and warmth.

…and add a touch of sophistication.

If you are going out for the evening keep the umbrella and fab boots but switch out the raincoat for this multi-dimensional beauty.  Wrap yourself in faux fur, velvet, wool, and silk.  You will be warm and look sophisticated as you step out for cocktails, dinner, and of course those upcoming holiday parties!
