Lidl just opened an Alexandria location on September 9th. The store is located at 6548 Little River Turnpike and will be initially open from 8am to 9pm daily. Although Lidl’s U.S. headquarters are located in Arlington, this is their first location in the Alexandria area. Lidl holds its products to high standards, with around 80 percent of its products under Lidl’s own private label. Lidl is more than just food; you’ll also find small appliances, decor, tools, and other home essentials.
Another favorite is MOM’s Organic Market, located at 3831 Mt. Vernon Ave in Del Ray. With locations in both Alexandria and Arlington, MOM’s Organic Market makes it easy to shop sustainably and organically with its range of produce and mindful products. MOM’s Organic Market fulfills their purpose to protect and restore the environment by offering bulk options where customers can bring their own containers (BYOC) to avoid wasteful plastic and packaging. If you are looking to shop sustainably and reduce your reliance on plastic, this is the place for you.
Next up is Streets Market, a local grocery store with lots of variety. Streets Market brings international, local, conventional, organic, and everyday practical goods all under one roof. They are located in Del Ray at 3108 Mt. Vernon Ave, with locations in Arlington and D.C., too. To make things even easier, Streets Market offers online shopping and delivery through Mercato.com.
