a buying trip: trends to come
As another season comes to a close, it’s time to prep our stores for new inventory to come. A couple times per year we head up to the Big Apple to attend buying shows where we meet with our favorite designers and select new items for our Alexandria store and our new Wildwood location too! We always look forward to these trips because it’s time we are able to spend together (outside of the store) and we get to see all of the new trends to come for the year. This last buying trip was a quick one but we had just enough time to visit our favorite vendors, get inspired by the new trends to come, and we even discovered some new designers as well. We are so excited about the new trends for Fall, Holiday and Resort that we thought we would give you a sneak peak of what is to come!
Shopping Trends for Fall:
This fall, be on the look out for refined tie-dye patterns, a trend we are absolutely loving! We saw them used on cashmere sweaters, silk shirts, silk dresses and sheer crepe blouses. We came across some gorgeous leather jackets and vests both structured and with cascading collars, a must have this fall. We saw shift dresses with leather and suede detail and light cotton ponchos. We visited our favorite denim vendor, Joe’s Jeans, and we selected their mid-rise flares and some of our favorite classic skinnies as well. A new line we are extremely excited to be bringing on is a French designer collection of pull-on bottoms that use distinctive Parisian atélier techniques, they use precise tailoring and are incredibly flattering!
Shopping Trends for Holiday:
For the Holiday season, we saw plenty of silks in smokey greys, crisp winter whites and of course classic blacks. Flowy palazzo pants are going to be all the rage for Holiday along with superbly cut silk dresses that are both comfortable and flattering. We saw some gorgeous pull-on boot-cut stretch pants that were beyond flattering, ooh-la-la! We picked up some gorgeous sleeveless silk tunics with embellishments around the neckline, which will be perfect for those holiday parties!
Shopping Trends for Resort:
Of course, Coco Blanca is all about RESORT all year long. You’ll never find a shortage of white Joe’s jeans, raffia bags, white cotton tunics, brimmed hats and fedoras. We loved the trending style of metallic leather with woven raffia used in handbags, clutches and hats. Since our customers love the fit of our Joe’s Jeans, we’ve added Joe’s new white denim skirt to our inventory! Linen shorts in white and taupe are a must-have for any sunny get-away. And with any season, Coco Blanca can’t get enough of chunky Baroque pearls! We went crazy this time when ordering from our fabulous Italian jewelry designer!
