Our Stylists Pick the Hair Shades of Summer: Golden Honey, Steely Stone, and…Peppermint!

Summer is almost here and for many of our clients that means it’s time for a new hair color, or at least a color refresh. We asked a couple of our stylists about their thoughts on some looks we’ll see more of as we start to warm up.

One of Mak’s favorites for the season is a rich, honey blonde. She says warmer tones will be everywhere this summer and advises to, “think easy upkeep and non-committal looks.” A subtler blonde hue won’t require bi-weekly salon appointments and you will spend more time out having fun and less time with foil in your hair!

Mak also says a golden brunette tone can work with almost every skin complexion from fair to olive, but that it’s all about the placement of the highlights or Balayage. Highlights heavier in the front will look better for those with darker skin tones. If you have fairer skin, then it’s best to disperse the highlights more liberally to avoid a washed out look.

Aida is embracing steely, stone shades this time of year, which she describes as, “a gray slate with a smoky Balayage color through the ends.” This is even a fantastic alternative for men who are looking for coloring. Aida also says that rose hair trend is still going strong, but recommends a dusty rose if you have a cool skin tone. At the other end of the spectrum, rose-pink and rose-apricot will help warmer skin tones really glow.

Kait says a bold color to try this summer is peppermint. The key to keeping this color vibrant is a good upkeep. Aveda color has a line of warm and cool shades that work like a lip gloss to add a lustrous tone, creating amazing shine in between salon visits. It’s easy as using them instead of your conditioner twice a week!

At Bazzak, we are always more than happy to provide consultations along with recommendations before you make a final decision so you’ll know exactly what to expect. Our passion is to provide clients with the highest levels of service and that you leave our salon loving your new look!
